Key Features
Monic includes the following components:
- Monitoring: At its core, Monic has a powerful monitoring component packed full of useful features, including distributed data collection, automatic data aggregation (along date and entity hierarchies), calculation of composite indicators, granular user permissions, optional quality assurance processes, and much much more.
- Theory of Change: Use Monic's graphical Theory of Change builder to create a visual representation of your inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes and impacts. Capture the relationships between items in your theory of change by connecting them with arrows, then link your indicators into the relevant boxes to integrate your Theory of Change with data collected from the monitoring component.
- Logical Framework: Capture your logic model into a tabular Logical Framework by specifying the activities, outputs, outcomes and goals, as well as the means of verification and any risks & assumptions. Link each row to your indicators, integrating your logical model with the monitoring component.
- Surveys / Questionnaires: Monic provides a built-in survey tool with a wide variety of question types, complex skip-logic, restricted permissions or open access, and an optional integration with ChatGPT for analysis of responses.
- Document Repository: Store documents in folders that you can share with groups of users, enabling knowledge sharing and collaboration. In addition, documents can be linked to various items in the above components, such as storing a Technical Indicator Definition document director against the indicator itself, or a detailed explanation of an activity against that activity in your Theory of Change or Logical Framework.
- Activity Planning: Keep track of your activities using Monic's project planning Gantt chart, tracking task responsibilities and completion progress. This component is still under development, with the intention of making it a useful tool for use-cases such as establishing interventions or implementing improvement plans.
